March 7 court date set for bribery case appeal


GEORGE TOWN: The High Court here fixed March 7 to mention the case of a former Penang Municipal Council (MPPP) consultant engineer, who is appealing for a stay against his RM1.75mil fine imposed by a lower court.

Chua Beng Seong, 55, who was found guilty of receiving a RM350,000 bribe in 2009, had been ordered by the Sessions Court to pay the fine in installments of RM250,000 starting from Saturday.
