Kajang by-election: Dr M says BN must contest and MCA given a chance to make a comeback

KUALA LUMPUR: Barisan Nasional must contest the Kajang by-election as it is not its practice to give a walkover to its opponent, said Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

“We have contested in all elections. We don’t give a walkover to anyone,” former prime minister added, responding to calls for Barisan not to take part in the by-election as it is a waste of money since it is perceived to be a “forced election” to allow opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to win a state seat and make a bid for the post of Selangor mentri besar.
