PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was denied entry to Japan on Sunday due to his conviction in 1999, the Japanese embassy confirmed.
Embassy spokesperson Tomoko Nagai said that any persons who have had a prior conviction in Japan or any other country and have had been jailed for a year or more would be denied entry to the country.
