KUALA SELANGOR: Mentri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim will convene a meeting with the management of Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) on Monday to discuss the status of Azmin Ali.

He said he would discuss the matter with PKNS general manager Othman Omar and executive secretary Norita Mohd Sidek to find solution to the issue.

"We will not take any action or issue any statement until we meet with general manager and executive secretary," he told reporters after attending a dialogue with Felda settlers here.

Azmin's dismissal from PKNS board of directors caused dissatisfaction among Selangor PKR leaders to the extent of prompting its secretary, Amirudin Shari, to demand an explanation from Khalid.

Khalid was reported to have refuted the allegation that he was involved in making the decision, saying that Azmin's dismissal was proposed by Othman.

Norita, in a statement last Thursday, said the power to appoint a member to the PKNS board was in the hands of the State Executive Council chaired by the mentri besar, and not the general manager, as stated in Clause 4 (1) of PKNS Enactment.

She said Azmin's dismissal was also endorsed by the council in December. - Bernama
