Lubok Merbau election petition struck out again

IPOH: The Election Court has once again dismissed the Lubok Merbau state seat petition filed by a voter against Barisan Nasional representative Datuk Siti Salmah Mat Jusak (pic).

Judge Datuk Abdul Rahman Sebli made the decision after finding the petition defective.

He said the facts were also insufficient to support the petition.

"Therefore the election court does not have the jurisdiction to go on with a full trial," he said on Thursday.

He ordered the petitioner to pay RM30,000 each to the first and second respondents.

In the 13th general election, Barisan's Datuk Siti Salmah defeated PAS candidate Mohd Zainudin Mohd Yusof with a majority of 53 votes.
