RM3.6mil in pirated DVDs destroyed


354,826 pirated DVDs were destroyed at a disposal ceremony in the Petaling Jaya district police station on Friday. The stash amounted to RM3.6 million.

PETALING JAYA: RM3.6mil worth of DVDs containing pirated movies have been destroyed by the authorities as part of an effort to curb the sale of the illicit products.

The 354,826 DVDs that were destroyed on Friday constituted only a portion of the discs confiscated from movie pirates in Petaling Jaya between 2005 and 2013, said Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Arjunaidi Mohamed.
