Bible Society reps meet with Jais officials

SHAH ALAM: Bible Society of Malaysia (BSM) representatives arrived at the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais) office here Friday to discuss the seizure of Bahasa Malaysia version bibles from its premises earlier this month.

BSM president Lee Min Choon, accompanied by manager Sinclair Wong and secretary-general Simon Wong, said the meeting was a casual one to explain to Jais officials why the bibles should be allowed to be used in the state.

"We also hope to work with Jais to find a suitable mechanism to avoid such controversial raids from happening," he told reporters.
