KUALA LUMPUR: The Safe Drinking Water Bill will allow the Health Minister to shut down a water treatment plant – with the agreement of the Energy, Green Technology and Water Minister – if he has reasons to believe that its water poses a public health hazard.
Under the Bill, to be tabled in Parliament this year, the minister’s decision shall be final and not challenged or reviewed in any court.
