KUALA LUMPUR: Social media users showed that they can walk the talk offline as well
as online during Twestival Kuala Lumpur 2013, a fundraiser held to benefit local charities.
More than 220 social media users gathered at a shopping mall in Dutamas here to lend their support for the fifth edition of the event.
Together, they helped to raise a total of RM30,000 through Twestival KL ticket sales, donations and auctions.
Audience members had the opportunity to bid on a variety of goodies sponsored by several local and international organisations.

“All of the money will go to charity, thanks to the generosity of everyone who attended the event as well as the sponsors,” said Niki Cheong, the organiser of Twestival KL.
“This event is a great way of bringing social media users together.
“It also benefits a good cause,” he added.
The proceeds will benefit the children at Persatuan Kanak-Kanak Istimewa Hulu Langat in Selangor.
Throughout the event, there were also live performances by local artistes such
as Elvira, Liang, Carmen Soo and Vince Chong.
