Flood victims increase in Johor


JOHOR BARU: The number of flood victims in the state has increased slightly Saturday morning

As of 8am, the Johor flood operations centre recorded 1,633 victims compared to the 1,507 victims recorded at 9pm Friday night.

The previously worst hit district Mersing has closed all its flood relief centres as the skies begin to clear up since Friday.

Districts that are still bogged down by flood woes are Segamat with 566 victims seeking shelter at nine centres, Batu Pahat with 422 victims (5), Pontian with 401 (3), Kota Tinggi with 97 (2), Johor Baru with 63 (1) and Kulaijaya with 54 (1).

Other districts like Kluang opened one centre for 20 victims while the centre in Ledang currently houses eight victims.
