CONTRACT marriages (kahwin mutaah) to legitimise sexual intercourse among couples are being allegedly practised by Syiah followers in Malaysia, reported Metro Ahad.
It claimed that these marriages could last anywhere from 30 minutes to four months and almost anything – from slippers to cigarettes lighters – could be used as dowry (hantaran) for the “union” which dissolves automatically after the agreed period.
