House of worship loses RM21,000 of goods to burglars


PETALING JAYA: Burglars broke into a Sathya Sai Baba house of worship in Taman Universiti here early Saturday and carted away RM21,000 worth of valuables.

The advisor to the house of worship, Dr R. Vijendran said the staff became aware of the burglary at about 7am.

"Several valuables were taken including an idol worth RM12,000, musical equipment and a video camera," he told Bernama at the premises.

Staff member A Natchimuthu said he realised the premises had been broken into when he noticed that the door was prised open.

"Items were scattered inside the premises and the idol was missing," he said, adding that the break-in could have happened between midnight and 5am.

The Sungai Way police station here confirmed having received a report on the burglary. - Bernama
