Two Indonesian workers crushed to death at Johor Baru site

JOHOR BARU: Two Indonesian workers were crushed to death under wet cement at a construction site in Ulu Tiram here. 

The victims, identified only as Hassan, 24, and Aripin, 27, were working at the site for a supermarket during the 3.50pm Saturday.

It is learnt that they were working on the first floor when some concrete and cement fell and brought them down together.

Fire and Rescue department (operations) deputy assistant director Mohd Rizal Buang said rescuers had to use a crane and excavator to retrieve the bodies which were trapped under bags of cement.

Hassan's body was recovered at about 9.40pm while Aripin's body was found at about 12.50am.
