Early voting begins in Kuala Besut


KUALA BESUT: Early voting has begun for military and police personnel and their spouses for the Kuala Besut by-election.

The process involves some 1,148 voters, mostly at the Gong Kedak Royal Malaysian Air Force base here.

For the early voting process, two polling streams have been made available.

Only a handful of police personnel are early voters this by-election.

The early voting also saw a new indelible ink application system, with voters vote dabbing their left index finger in the indelible ink bottle before casting their ballots.

The process began at 8am and ends at 5pm Saturday.

It will be a straight fight between Barisan Nasional's Tengku Zaihan Che Ku Abd Rahman and PAS' Endut @ Azlan Yusof.

Regular voters will cast their ballots on July 24.
