Jawi fails in bid against bookstore manager

KUALA LUMPUR: The Federal Territory Islamic Affairs Department (Jawi) failed to stay a High Court order to quash its case against bookstore manager Nik Raina Nik Abdul Aziz.

Jawi will now have to withdraw its case against the manager pending its appeal of a High Court’s decision to allow Berjaya Books Sdn Bhd, the owner of Borders, to challenge the legality of Jawi’s raid on the bookstore.
