Woman gives birth at bus-stop

A WOMAN was forced to give birth at a bus-stop in Salem, Tamil Nadu, after she could not pay bribes to be treated at a government hospital, Makkal Osai reported.

The 24-year-old woman, a labourer from Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh, went to the hospital with her husband and two children after she experienced labour pains on Saturday but some nursing staff allegedly demanded Rs1,000 (RM55) to help her deliver her child.
