Two escaped detainees shot dead in Bukit Mertajam (Update)

BUTTERWORTH: Two of the seven detainees who escaped while being taken to the Butterworth court on Monday, were shot dead by police about 1pm Thursday at Kampung Padang Ibu, Kubang Semang in Bukit Mertajam.

Penang police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Abdul Rahim Hanafi said police received a tip-off that the two suspects were spotted in a car in the Kubang Semang area about 12.30pm.
