PETALING JAYA: As a little girl growing up in rural Mentakab, Usha Kanagaratnam vowed to solve one of the world's oldest problems, poverty.
As she grew up, her desire to help the poor never wavered, and she became involved in several NGOs and community development projects, requiring her to travel and live in poverty-stricken areas in countries like Bangladesh and Indonesia.
