SHAH ALAM: Higher water tariff for the people is the reason why the Selangor state government opposes the Sungai Langat 2 water treatment plant project, Mentri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim said Wednesday.
"We believe the construction of Sungai Langat 2 project would burden the people with higher water tariffs as the costlier the project, the more the people will have to pay," he told a press conference here after chairing a weekly state executive council meeting.
