KUALA LUMPUR: A junior army officer was sentenced to 13 years in prison and 16 strokes of the rotan by the Sessions Court here after pleading guilty to the rape-cum-robbery of a student three years ago.
Former lance corporal Hamzi Amni Zamali, 26, admitted to raping the student aged 19 at the time, and also to causing her injury by kicking and her in the stomach while trying to rob her. Both offences took place in some bushes in Sungai Besi, Cheras, around 10pm on March 8 three years ago.
