Boy falls from fourth floor of shopping centre

A 17-year-old boy broke his left hand after falling from the fourth floor of a shopping mall in Ipoh. He was rushed to the hospital after landing in the concourse area of the mall during the 11.30am incident on Sunday. The boy and several friends were said to have been sitting on a railing on the fourth floor when a security guard told them not to do so. However, the warning was not heeded and the boy got back on the railing again before losing his balance and falling. No police report was lodged over the matter. The mall has since issued a statement, saying that the accident did not result from any structural defect.
