School's land dispute to resolve soon

A land dispute between SJK(C) Yeok Kheong in Selama, and the owner of the land is expected to be settled soon. Kedah Chinese School Committees Associations (Dong Lian Hui) chairman Ch’ng Chuwn Leong said both parties had met to discuss the matter. The discussion was arranged by the association. Ch’ng said the parties would come out with a plan to resolve the matter. A joint press conference is expected to be held next Monday. It was reported that the school, which had operated for more than 90 years, had been ordered to relocate within three months following a court order over the land dispute. The High Court had ordered the school to demolish its premises and return the 1.2ha land to a descendant of the late landlord.
