A school teacher at a secondary school in Termerloh, Pahang is recovering from a severe facial injury after being struck by a shot put during a training session on Feb 16. In the 5pm incident, the victim fell unconscious immediately after being hit by the heavy object thrown by a student. He was rushed to the nearest health clinic and transferred to Hospital Tengku Ampuan Afzan in Kuantan due to the severity of the trauma. His condition has reportedly stabilised. State Education Director Datuk Rosdi Ismail reminded schools to be more careful and vigilant to prevent similar incidents in the future.

A four-month-old baby girl passed away while under the care of a babysitter in Seremban last weekend. OCPD Asst Comm Thiew Hock Poh said the father has lodged a police report over his daughter's death. According to Thiew, the babysitter had called the mother when the victim was found to be unconscious at around 6pm. She was rushed to the hospital but pronounced dead. It was reported that the victim had been having a cough and flu for three days. The case has been classified as sudden death, but investigations are still ongoing, said the police.
