Man dies of heart attack after singing competition in Perak


A singer, who went by the stage name 'Kang Yu', died of a heart attack during a singing competition in Sungai Siput, Perak. Hong Guo Xing, 53, was the fourth contestant to go on stage during the competition featuring 35 others at about 9pm on Sunday. He sang jue kou bu ti ai ni (Won't Say Loving You Anymore) before coming down from the stage to enjoy fried chicken wings with his girlfriend. It was then that he started feeling dizzy before experiencing a fit. He died shortly after. Several witnesses said Hong could be seen catching his breath after the performance. It is learnt that Hong had undergone heart surgery in India, and was a familiar face in various singing competitions.
