Single mother Noor Akmar Kamaruddin, 29, did not expect herself to be insulted when dealing with a potential buyer for her online business just because her daughter has a Nigerian father. The Facebook message conversation between her and the woman, Safina Said, went viral on social media since Tuesday and it sparked debate among netizens. After enquiring for the price of marinated meat, Safina had asked Noor Akmar whether the girl in her profile photo was her daughter. Safina had also questioned the child's racial background due to her curly hair and said her husband forbids her to have any dealings with "negro". Noor Akmar then replied to the woman, saying her daughter was a beautiful “mixed” Nigerian unlike Safina's husband who had "an ugly face with an ugly heart". The single mother went further to say she was anti-racist and refused to deal with racist people such as Safina, who then threatened to make their conversation viral. It was Noor Akmar herself who uploaded screenshots of the conversation before Safina shut down her Facebook account. Noor Akmar said she felt regretful having to deal with the incident but was grateful to receive support from Malaysians.
