> Actress recalls spending Hari Raya in lockup
Actress Natasha Elyzza, 22, recalled spending 11 days at the USJ8 police station lockup in Subang Jaya during the Hari Raya period last year. Natasha said she will never forget the bitter experience when she was put behind bars on Sept 18, 2015. The actress maintained that she was innocent when she was arrested for alleged drug possession. Natasha said she did not know there were drugs inside the house when she dropped by to hang out with her friends. “Suddenly the cops came and found ganja inside. Two of my friends and I were detained in the lockup for 11 days,” she recalled. “The first person I thought of was my mother. When she came to visit me, tears fell and I remembered all my mistakes,” she shared.
> Nurulhidayah to spend Hari Raya with mother-in-law
Datuk Nurulhidayah Ahmad Zahid, 38, will be spending Hari Raya with her three children and mother-in-law in Kajang, Kuala Lumpur, this year. The eldest daughter of Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi is still fulfilling her iddah (waiting period) following the death of her husband, Datuk Syed Alwan Zain Syed Alwi, on June 1. “This year, I want to make sure Ummi (mother-in-law) spends Hari Raya with me and the children at my parent’s place because I don’t want her to feel lonely and sad,” Nurulhidayah said. Although they are still getting used to the absence of Syed Alwan Zain, Nurulhidayah said the family has been preparing for Hari Raya as usual this year as she did not want the children to remain unhappy.
