Seventy-five orphans from Kampung Batu 11 in Gombak, Selangor were let down when a man who had promised to sponsor the children’s expenses to attend a charity dinner in Johor Baru, went missing. The children, who had travelled 354km to attend the event, were told they would be the guests of honour at a charity dinner and that their travel expenses and stay at Hotel Berjaya Waterfront in Johor Baru would be taken care of. Upon arriving at the hotel, however, they were told that no reservations had been made and there was no event scheduled. The hotel, nevertheless, allowed the children to stay a night and paid for their travel.

The use of breast milk in soaps and cosmetic products is prohibited in Islam, said the Malaysia Islamic Development Department (Jakim). According to Jakim director-general Datuk Othman Mustapha, the decision which was made by the department in June, had also taken into account National Pharmaceutical Control Bureau (NPCB) guidelines that materials of human origin are prohibited to be used as ingredients in cosmetic products, including soaps. Othman was responding to an article that breast milk soaps are currently a hit in China due to alleged beauty benefits.

Malaysian artiste Lee Sin Jie has apparently forgiven her director husband Oxide Pang who was seen kissing and hugging model Liddy Li in public in May. According to Taiwanese news reports, the couple looked like in love when they were spotted holding hands and shopping in public lately. Lee is reported to have decided to forgive Pang after completing a seven-day meditation course at a temple in Ipoh earlier this month.
