IT was good news for many here in Kuantan that the St Thomas schools, which have been occupying temporary premises since 2014, will finally have a new home but this news came at the cost of its very identity - its name.

The recent announcement on the changing of the St Thomas primary and secondary schools’ name to Sekolah Mahkota Abdullah had sparked a debate on the preservation of mission schools in the country.
