SOME 140 industry leaders and alumni from the Alice Smith School re-connected and reminisced at the inaugural 70th Anniversary Alice Smith Celebration Lunch, co-organised with the British Malaysian Chamber of Commerce (BMCC).
The event featured two of its distinguished alumni namely AirAsia Group chief executive officer Tan Sri Tony Fernandes and CIMB Group Holdings Bhd chairman Datuk Seri Nazir Razak.
The duo shared their stories of success, from the experiences of their schooling days to their accomplishments in a forum themed, “Our Journey Through Time” moderated by BMCC chairman Andrew Sill and Alice Smith head of school Roger Schultz.
Also present were British High Commissioner to Malaysia Vicki Treadell, BMCC members, corporate figures, Alice Smith parents and alumni.
The two corporate giants shared their fondest memories from their time at Alice Smith that had the floor laughing away over student life.
The event marked the second highlight of a series of dedicated events and activities commemorating Alice Smith’s milestone anniversary celebrating 70 years of rich British educational heritage.
This follows the launch of its anniversary celebrations with an alumni get-together in London earlier in January, attended by alumni spanning decades of the school’s history.
“As Alice Smith looks forward to the future, the 70th anniversary celebrations is a fitting time to reflect on past achievements and understand the unique story of how the school began, as well as celebrate the many wonderful changes and exciting developments that will be occurring at the school,” said Schultz.
