PALESTINIAN teacher Hanan Al Hroub is the winner of the Varkey Foundation Global Teacher Prize 2016, an award that carries a USD1mil (RM4.1mil) prize.

Hanan has beaten over 8,000 teachers from 148 countries who were nominated or applied for the competition dubbed the “Nobel prize of teaching”.
