Cheers for final PMR exam

Raw emotions: It was a tense atmosphere as students waited in anticipation at SMK Katholik, Petaling Jaya, when the PMR results were released.

THE batch of Form Three students who sat for the PMR examination this year marked the end of an era.

After two decades, the exam is set to make way for a school-based assessment known as the Pentaksiran Berasaskan Sekolah Menengah Rendah or PBSMR next year. The revamp of the PMR, which was introduced in 1993 to replace the previous Sijil Rendah Pelajaran examination, was first announced by Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin in 2010.
