The dairy journey continues

Pupils enjoying their milk.

The government’s milk programme started in 1983, was suspended in 2007, and given a boost again three years later for the benefit of more than a million children nationwide.

CHILDREN have a habit of downing their drinks without looking out for details like the expiry date and harmful ingredients. Be it boxed drinks, fizzy liquids or thirst-quenchers that come in cans and bottles, they just don’t see the need to check the fine print and herein lies the danger — they can become seriously ill, and in some instances, even fatal.
