STERN action would be taken against businesses that use the Goods and Services Tax (GST) as an excuse to increase prices or to promote its businesses.
Customs director-general Datuk Seri Khazali Ahmad said it was not right for them to do so as these unscrupulous businesses were just trying to take advantage of the people.
