WHILE it was a relatively quiet year for Ampang Jaya residents, the business community on the other hand were up in arms over a notice by Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) that required them to pay a deposit when renewing their annual business licences.
The notices stated that an additional deposit would be imposed on all business licence holders, with the sum depending on the type of business.
