Working together to save our turtles

KOTA KINABALU: The Omadal Island, one of the turtle landing sites in east coast Semporna was given a ‘makeover’ when some 100 people came together for a gotong-royong over the weekend.

The two-day event saw villagers of the island as well as volunteers from the Semporna Omadal Island Women’s Association (WAPO) and the 1Malaysia for Youth (1M4U) come together for an awareness campaign on turtle protection and environment conservation, apart from cleaning up the island.
