IPO to prevent further abuse by partners

SIBU: Victims of domestic violence here are now better protected by the Welfare Department as they are given interim protection orders (IPO) to prevent further abuse by their partners.

The department’s officer-in-charge of senior citizens unit, Jowise Narok, said the department had decided to implement this as there were cases where the spouse of the victim would rush to their homes with the intention of attacking them.
