THE Kuala Lumpur Orchid Garden, tucked into the green hills of the Botanical Lake Garden, is a gem of an attraction that receives little attention compared with the other better known destinations in the area including the KL Bird Park and the botanical garden itself.
The truth is, just before I stepped into the garden for this week’s KL on a Shoestring column, I had braced myself for sights of maybe a stalk or two of common orchids amidst lush greenery that is the trademark of the entire area anyway.
