Group still insists Murum dam project could pose threat to surrounding areas


MIRI: Anti-dam activists in Sarawak are not convinced by Sarawak Energy Bhd (SEB)’s assurance on the safety of the proposed Murum dam, saying that any problem associated with the turbines is a cause of great concern.

Save Sarawak Rivers chairman Peter Kallang said the non-governmental organisation (NGO) and its counterparts in the state, wanted a stop to the state government’s plans to construct more mega dams in Sarawak.
