Menara Bumiputera Commerce offers reasonable parking rates with CCTV's and well light basement parking.
THE arrival of the fasting month also means Hari Raya Aidilfitri is just around the corner and it is the perfect time to shop for new clothes and other essential festive goodies. Many will be flocking to the numerous shops along Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman.
This area is packed with emporiums, shops, stalls and — during the fasting month — a Ramadan bazaar at an empty plot of land behind Semua House, which is extremely popular with those looking for great bargains in conjunction with the festive period.
Although there is a Komuter station not too far away (Bandaraya Station — ST6), driving here seems a better option if one plans to buy a whole lot of clothes and other goods.
However, prior planning is advisable before heading to the area, especially during the weekends when parking becomes scarce at most places and, since most roads in this area are one-way streets, it could cause a lot of inconvenience.
The cheapest parking options are the ones under Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) along Jalan Bunus and Jalan Bunus 6 for 80sen per hour, but finding an empty bay is difficult as the bays are limited. Furthermore, it can be tricky as vehicles are often double-parked along this stretch, resulting in your car being blocked.
Along Jalan Dang Wangi
There are four open-air carparks located next to each other in this area, making it the best place to begin the search for a parking spot.
·Houz Depot open-air carpark. But only limited number of bays available.
·Imej Parking is another open-air carpark that is opposite Campbell complex. It has ample parking space.
·An open-air carpark located next door is smaller in size and very popular because they charge the lowest rate among the private operators — RM6 per entry.
·Located opposite the entrance to the Dang Wangi district police headquarters, this carpark charges RM7 per entry and an early-bird rate of RM5 per entry.
·Campbell Complex. Expensive when compared to the open-air parking rates located across the road but at least your car will be out of the sun and heat.
Near Sogo Complex
·Sogo Complex. Has CCTV cameras and security personnel.
·Menara Bumiputera Commerce. Can be accessed from Jalan Raja Laut and Jalan Esfahan, off Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman.
Near Menara KWSP
·Menara KWSP. Accessible from Jalan Raja Laut, this carpark is only open from Monday to Friday. It has auxiliary policemen and CCTV cameras.
·One open-air parking facility close to Menara KWSP is owned by Sogo KL. The entrance to this place is behind Menara KWSP and Coliseum cinema.
·Another open-air car park, located along Lorong Gombak, is open 24 hours and is equipped with spotlights for additional
safety at night. This road is only accessible after turning into Jalan Bunus, off Jalan Raja Laut.
Near Semua House
·This area is a hive of activity during the fasting month and the carparks here are often full but offer the most strategic parking to all the nearby shopping areas.
·Semua House. Equipped with CCTV
·Plaza One City. Also has CCTV cameras.
