FASHIONABLE pop-up stores
X Parkamaya returns once again in conjunction with Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week 2014 (KLFW) to give shoppers an opportunity to support local designers.
The pop-up stores which kicked-off recently feature 11 up-and-coming Malaysian designers forming part of the local retail platform behind KLFW 2014.
Located in Parkamaya at fahrenheit88, the pop-up stores will give budding designers a chance to showcase their skills not just as designers, but also as retailers.
Parkamaya general manager Walter
Ang said it was important that new designers market themselves and their brands successfully on the local and international stage.
“Hopefully, we can create a platform for these designers to show people their ideas and works and KLFW is a good stepping stone for them to start off.
“This year, we are already seeing two selected pop-up designers Isabel Lam and her brand Chiyo and Joshua Fitton of Tempatan enter Parkamaya’s designer incubator zone, Parkalab,” Ang said.
The designers and brands participating in Fashionably KL pop-up stores X Parkamaya 2014 include Vincent Siow (Comoddity), Jimmy Lim (Jimmy Lim), Andy Yap with his brand Andy Brandy, Peter Lim (Rplus + Freedom), Tallen Thong (m-maximunity), Huang (Milk Tee), Kamae Lee (Simply K), Mie Abdullah (Rare Clothing) and Mem-Ardrin WK (Eight).
The designers’ ready-to-wear collections will be available until June 29 with a
fashion walk at fahreinheit88 to take place on June 28.
