Capture beauty of KTM stations

IT IS said a picture is worth a thousand words. It can also win you a prize in a contest organised by KTM Bhd and Fujifilm (M) Sdn Bhd.

The theme for the contest which ends on July 20 is “Life at KTM Stations”.

It aims to document the unique designs as well as capture interesting experiences in KTM stations throughout peninsula Malaysia.

During the official launch at KL Sentral recently, KTM Bhd chairman Datuk Ahmad Nawawi said the competition was open to all Malaysians except KTM Berhad and Fujifilm (M) Sdn Bhd employees.

“Winners will be selected based on clarity, picture composition and originality. Photos must not be edited or retouched including digital manipulation,” he said.

Participants may send as many pictures as they want but each envelope must not contain more than five photos. The photos must be 6R in size and printed on Fujifilm/Fujicolor paper.

Entry forms are available at main KTM stations and Fujifilm premises. In addition, the forms can be downloaded online.

Fujifilm (M) Sdn Bhd senior executive director Paul Ho said the contest gave photographers, especially amateurs, a good platform to display their skills.

There will be three winners for the grand prize, a Fujifilm X-A1 worth RM1,888 and two train tickets to any KTM destination in Malaysia only.

Another 10 winners will win special prizes comprising FINEPIX S4600 worth RM688 and a KTM Komuter ticket each.

Ahmad said there were plans to have convenience shops, hotels and a shopping centre at major KTM stations in the future.

“One location we are looking at is Alor Setar,” he said.
