THE smell emanating from open-type sewage treatment plants is unavoidable, but Indah Water Konsortium (IWK) has been putting in place measures to reduce the nauseous gasses.

IWK chief executive officer Datuk Abdul Kadir Mohd Din said there were financial constraints and IWK could not use the close-type sewage treatment plants where no gasses were released to the air because of the high costs involved.
