Bhd recently donated RM300,000 to six charitable organisations.
The organisations are Ti-Ratana Welfare Society Malaysia, Tzu Chi Foundation Malaysia, Selangor Cheshire Home, Pusat Penjagaan Kanak-Kanak Taman Megah, Rumah Bakti Dato’ Harun and PPIM Rumah Solehah.
Each organisation received RM50,000 at the group’s annual dinner held at Tropicana Golf
and Country Resort in Petaling Jaya.
It was attended by about 1,500 employees and members of the board of directors.
Tropicana Group managing director Dickson Tan and Tropicana Group CEO Datuk Yau Kok Seng shared the group’s accomplishments throughout the year in their speeches.
This was followed by a video presentation on the milestones achieved.
Dickson expressed the group’s commitment to supporting underprivileged communities in the coming years.
“In 2013, we doubled our sales record to RM2.17bil, strengthening and reaffirming our position in the property industry.
“While we see exponential growth, we remain unchanged in our efforts to engage with the communities around us.
“With our efforts and contributions, we hope to improve the lives of the underprivileged through providing funding in the areas of health, education and other non-profit initiatives,” said Tan.
Guests tossed yee sang and watched a lion dance performance before being entertained by K-Pop’s Cash Band and a stand-up comedy routine by Douglas Lim and Kuah Jen Han.
