500 from remote village get clean water supply

KOTA KINABALU: Two NGOs and local communities teamed up to provide clean water supply for more than 500 schoolchildren, teachers and villagers at two remote villages in the northern Sabah district of Kota Marudu.

Yayasan Rakyat 1Malaysia (YR1M) and the Rotary Club of Likas Bay (Rotary) teamed up to build a gravity feed water system for Kampung Timbang Batu Serayo and a rainwater harvesting system for SK Kampung Timbang Batu. The project began last year and was completed in December.
