Shining light on crimes against women

KUCHING: The Sarawak Women for Women Society (SWWS) recently conducted a seminar on crime in Long Lama, Baram. Human trafficking, drug mules and sexual violence were among the issues discussed.

It was aimed at raising awareness amongst the public, especially women in rural areas, of various forms of crime against women. The participants comprised mainly Penan women and youths from 17 villages. Members from the Kayan, Kenyah and Iban communities and representatives from various government agencies in Long Lama also attended.
