KOTA KINABALU: The state Environment Protection Department (EPD) has expressed surprise at the Auditor-General’s 2012 report that nine quarry operations in Sabah were illegal.
Department director Yabi Yangkat said it had earlier addressed concerns by the Audit Department on the operations of nine quarries in Sabah. As such, it that the quarry operators highlighted were complying with the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Report approved by his department.
