KUCHING: Students are encouraged to pursue their first degrees locally rather than going overseas on government scholarships if the courses they want are available in the state or country.
Welfare, Women and Family De-velopment Minister Datuk Fatimah Abdullah said this was the state government’s policy as it could not afford to send a lot of people overseas.
