THE new Maxis Team Golf Tour season got off to a roaring start when Lim Bu Keong and Lee Tiam Soon won the gross team title at Kota Permai Golf & Country Club in Shah Alam. They saw off a determined challenge from favourites Eric Foo Hwa Peng and Selvan Subramaniam in the first round.
Bu Keong and Tiam Soon carded 77 and 78, respectively, for a 153 total, while Eric and Selvan finished one stroke adrift. Eric, known as one of the longest drivers off the tee, shot the best score of the round when he went out with a one-under 35 and came home with a 37 for an even par 72.
