Agency detains illegal oil vessels


JOHOR BARU: The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) has detained two vessels for illegally transferring over 50,000 litres oil from one ship to another at Tanjung Piai waters off Pontian.

Johor Baru MMEA enforcement chief Kapt Aminuddin Abd Rashid said officers spotted the vessels which were anchored right beside each other about 4.4 nautical miles southeast of Tanjung Piai here on Sept 11.
