WITH its abundance of flora and fauna, Southeast Asia region has become a global hotspot for the illegal wildlife trade, according to wildlife trade monitoring network Traffic Southeast Asia.
Traffic senior communications officer Elizabeth Lisa John said that the region had become a place for smugglers and poachers to acquire rare species.
